Each production team is required to develop a detailed production design plan, which covers all of the pre-production aspects of your film.

The following information must be documented in the design plan;
At the bottom of each component in the Design Plan, you should indicate which group member completed that task. Remember tasks should be completed by the person who has the corresponding production role.
- Research / inspiration
- Intention
- Synopsis / treatment (see page 67 of text for more details about writing a treatment)
- Audience
- Screenplay / script
- Shot list
- Lighting Plan
- Character Profiles
- Location details
- Equipment information (camera's, audio recorders, boom etc?
- Editing (techniques, processes)

Individual Evaluation
Each member of the production team must complete an evaluation of the task, and your contributions to the task. Each reflection must go into the group's Production Design Plan.
Hopefully the group film task has given you the opportunity to learn more about the processes involved in film making. IF nothing else, this task should be used as an opportunity to reflect on your ability to fulfil a set production role, and your ability to work as part of a team.
The evaluation must include responses to the following;

- What Production Role were you assigned?
- Provide a detailed description of the responsibilities of this person in film/TV production.
- Give a detailed description of all the tasks that you undertook during the following stages of production;
-development / pre production
-production
-post production - How would you rate your performance as the (insert role here) ?
- If given the chance, what would you do differently?
- Are you satisfied with the final result of the film? Why?/Why not?
- What improvements could have been made by the group to achieve a better outcomes? For this response you should consider;
-Communication between group members
-Planning
-Quality of the story / plot
-Production qualities (ie sound, lighting, camera)
Alternative Media production task
Create a "DAY In 60 Seconds" film.
This task requires you to use a camera (best option is your phone camera... speak to Andy about loaning a DSLR) to record all the key events in your typical day. You will then edit together a short, sharp clip like the one on the right. A major emphasis is placed on the structuring of time and editing techniques. Step 1 Think about the average 'day in the life of YOU'. Create a storyboard and a shot list that best represents the key events of your day. Step 2 With fully charged phone / camera in hand, put your pre production into practice by capturing Step 3 Get all of your footage into iMovie / Premier and edit together your day. Consider using sound effects and music to emphasis the events of the day. |
